The fifty states project

Fifty states. One rule.

The long game: a race in all 50 states. 20 states on the map, 30 untouched. But running in a state only lights it up: racing in it is what counts. No bib, no checkmark.

The map

Where things stand

Acid green means a bib and a finish line. The dimmer green means I ran there but never raced there: close, but it does not count. Hover any state for the receipts.

The receipts

State by state

Every state I have touched and what happened there. Raced states first, biggest stack of bibs on top. Ohio is doing a lot of the lifting.

Still to go

The remaining 30

Zero miles, zero bibs, nothing. Yet. So every state below comes with a live pick: a real race, a real date, a signup that works, refreshed nightly from RunRace USA. If you know a better one worth flying in for, tell me.

And one marathon that does not count for any state: Berlin, 2022.

Keep going
