The running operation.
Most people guess at their training. I wired mine up instead: watch, Garmin, a midnight job, this page. Every mile of the last year is in here, plus a 3:08 marathon and the long game: a race in all 50 states. Eight raced, twenty run, and the map refuses to round up. Start with the numbers, then pick a rabbit hole.
Right now
Computed fresh on every load from the same files the midnight job writes. No cherry-picking, no rounding up. A soft week shows up here whether I like it or not.
Fifty-two weeks of work
Miles per week, Monday through Sunday, straight off the watch. Marathon blocks read as ridgelines. The valleys are taper, recovery, or a 50-miler collecting rent.
The dim bar on the far right is this week, still being written.
The current block
The first thing a coach checks: what you ran last week, and whether it beats the week before. The outliers explain the rest.
Four rabbit holes
This page is the trailhead. Each of these goes all the way down: live data, full history, no summaries.
The Fifty States
- The quest: a race in every state. Eight raced, forty-two to go
- The map knows the difference between raced there and just ran there
Race Log
- All the start lines since 2013: dates, times, places
- Filterable and searchable, PBs badged, short courses called out
PR Progressions
- Marathon: the first one to the PR, every finish plotted between
- Faster is higher on the chart. The races that went backwards stay on it.
Running Resume
- Every race detected automatically from Strava
- Verified against official results. It caught races I forgot I ran.
